Kiss and Tell Tour Stop and Giveaway with Author Laura Kaye
Today I’m handing over the reins to one of my favorite authors, Laura Kaye. I have the utmost faith that she will drop some highly enlightening knowledge on the blog today. Enjoy!
I’m very pleased to be at Rage, Sex and Teddy Bears today! I’m one of nine authors celebrating our new releases on the Kiss and Tell Tour. Kisses are just so damn sexy and romantic and intimate --- we thought it a great way to tie the tour together. To celebrate my recent release, a contemporary fantasy romance based on Greek mythology called North of Need, I thought I’d share some of my favorite kissing songs with you today! So, in no particular order, here they are:
A classic that never goes out of style: Louis Armstrong, A Kiss to Build a Dream On
A funky kiss you can’t help but sing along to: Prince, Kiss
I always feel this one viscerally: Seal, A Kiss From a Rose
This one’s a heartbreaker: Billie Myers, Kiss the Rain
While we’re on the subject of kisses, here’s a favorite one from North of Need.
Her good humor warmed him with hope. “Owen is my true name.”
She bit down on her bottom lip. “Owen, God of Snow, Bringer of Winter…” She dropped her gaze to their intertwined hands, traced her fingers along his.
He groaned. Her incantation rocked through him, invoked him to respond regardless of her intent. Struggling to resist, Owen ground his teeth together but the urge was too strong and he launched forward, captured her face in his hands, her lips with his.
His body roared back to life, remembered it’s earlier arousal. Demanded satiation, Megan moaned into his mouth, pawed and grasped at his bare chest. His tongue begged for entrance, which she granted. Gods, he could still taste the strawberry and chocolate on her --- flavors, that for him, would forever be tied to her most intimate scent. In the confined space of the igloo, her enticing wetness had bloomed around him, exploded through his senses as she’d released. Her euphoria had seemed such a magnificent triumph that his power had flared, burst from him in a moment of unguarded weakness. It had snowed.
Hand in her hair, he pressed against her, laid her back onto the soft skin of the sofa. He settled atop her, cradled between her thighs, his big body embraced by feminine curves. Small hands clutched at his shoulders and neck, made him feel claimed, wanted, Needed. He never knew how fulfilling humanity could be, but human connection offered such sweet satisfaction. Now the he had it, he couldn’t imagine going without.
Yum-my! *grins* So, what do you think of these kissing songs? And which favorite kissing song of yours did I miss?
Thanks for reading! And happy holidays!
Laura Kaye
If that doesn’t melt your snow then I don’t think there’s hope for you. *WHEW* That got tropical!
Here’s two of my favorite kissing songs.
The Cranberries, Kiss Me
Hall and Oates, Kiss on My List
About North of Need:
Her tears called a powerful snow god to life, but only her love can grant the humanity he craves......
Desperate to escape agonizing memories of Christmas past, twenty-nine year old widow Megan Snow builds a snow family outside the mountain cabin she once shared with her husband, realizing too late she's recreated the very thing she'll never have.
Called to life by Megan's tears, Owen Winters appears unconscious on her doorstep in the midst of a raging blizzard. As she nurses him to health, Owen finds unexpected solace in her company and unimagined pleasure in the warmth of her body, and vows to win her heart for a chance at humanity.
Megan is drawn to Owen's mismatched eyes, otherworldly masculinity, and enthusiasm for the littlest things. But this Christmas miracle comes with an expiration -- before the snow melts and the temperature rises, Megan must let go of her widow's grief and learn to trust love again, or she'll lose Owen forever.

Great songs. I don't think I've ever heard Billie Myers - Kiss the Rain before. Two of my favorites that you didn't mention are:
This Kiss by Faith Hill
Last Kiss by J. Frank Wilson & the Caveliers

Thanks everyone! It was such fun looking at these videos and they fit perfectly with North of Need.
Loved viewing all the kissing songs. I remember another one but I can't remember who originally sang it. 'And then He Kissed Me' from the 60's.
Loved the kissing excerpt. It definitely warmed me up.
