Twenty-three year old Dimitri has to do what he is told—literally. Controlled by a paranormal bond, he is forced to use his wits to fulfill unlimited deadly wishes made by multimillionaire Karl Walker.

Dimitri has no idea how his family line became trapped in the genie bond. He just knows resisting has never ended well. When he meets Syd—assertive, sexy, intelligent Syd—he becomes determined to make her his own. Except Karl has ensured Dimitri can't tell anyone about the bond, and Syd isn't the type to tolerate secrets.

Then Karl starts sending him away on back-to-back wishes. Unable to balance love and lies, Dimitri sets
out to uncover Karl's ultimate plan and put it to an end. But doing so forces him to confront the one wish he never saw coming—the wish that will destroy him.

Summoned is represented by Rossano Trentin of TZLA.

This book flat confused the holy heck out of me. Not in an, "I can't follow or understand this book" way, but in an odd, "I have no idea why I am loving this book" way. Weird thing #1 - The book was totally written in first person from Dimitri's point of view. I do not like first person POVs. I looooooved this. Don't know why. For the first half of the book, even though there was a goodly amount of sex, there was zero romance. This should have made it a DNF under normal circumstances. These were very, very dark characters in a very, very dark story. There was a TON of angst and violence and one episode that will give me nightmares for a month. The really, really most bizarre occurrence was how much I adored this book. I was absolutely exhausted when I finished Summoned, but I was absolutely ready for another 400 pages. It was honestly like crystal book meth. I didn't realize I had an addiction until I ran out and then it was just painful.

These characters, Dimitri, in particular were an insidious virus that completely overwhelmed my psyche until I was utterly consumed by their story. I kid you not, I did dream about this book several times. I know you are probably as confused by my review as I was by Summoned, but in the end this is a romance....
of sorts. It is above all a compelling, emotionally dark and surprisingly enough, humorous book that I really, really think is the start of something big. I was afraid that this would be a book more geared towards a younger, hipper reader. (not that I'm not hip or young), but this will thrill all PNR fans.
