Everyone has something to lose.
Camden Piotrowski is justifiably upset to find her boyfriend in the arms of another woman. But it’s not the end of her world and definitely not something that a bubble bath, good wine, and cookie dough won’t help. Her pity party is interrupted when handsome Seth Vendetti bursts into her bathroom. She soon discovers that her world and those in it are not as they seem. Can she trust Seth’s version of the truth and make him realize that even he has something to lose?
There are his shorts, lying on the floor. I kneel in the doorway as I reach my arm into the bathroom and stick my hand into the right pocket of his discarded clothing. I can’t even breathe for fear of making a noise. Plus, I need all my energy focused on this task. I wrap my fingers tightly around the keys and pull them out. I slowly stand and then close the door with my other hand.
I expel my breath as a wave of relief surges over me. I turn and take the stairs two at a time. I run through the house, out the kitchen door and straight to the truck. I probably should have tried to find some shoes, but I don’t know how much time I have, probably not much at all.
The key slides effortlessly into the door and then I’m sitting on the bench seat. It’s very dark, but I locate the ignition with my fingers. Before I even register my own movements, the key is in and turned. No trouble at all. If my breathing would work as effortlessly, then I might have a chance at pulling this off without fainting.
I have to back the truck out of its parking spot in order to get it turned in the right direction. My movements are shaky, but I accomplish the task. I find the switch for the lights as I turn onto the road at the end of the driveway. I’m not sure where I am and it’s a fifty-fifty chance at turning in the direction closest to civilization. I steer the truck to the right and congratulate myself at noticing the house number on the mailbox before I leave. I need to get away for sure, but I need to know how to get back, too.
Ok, so to get into this book and give it a fair shake, I had to pretend that I was a nice person who wouldn't rip the face off the guy I was on a date with because I catch him dry humping another chick while I'm in the bathroom. (not to mention the hysterectomy I would perform on the chick!) You can see where this might be a stretch for me. Especially since half the book is written in first person POV from Camden's perspective. She goes home and eats cookie dough. Sooooo, I'm nice, and normal. No psychotic tendencies here. I'm not even going to tell anybody what a total DOUCHE Billy is. I'm taking the high road.
Thank God, the other half is written from Seth's perspective. While basically a nice, albiet slightly skewed, male. He has a few hinky traits that I can get behind. He doesn't discriminate against Camden because she is obviously "special". Oooops, back in the cave, mean girl. I meant that he sees Camden as someone to be admired for her unique ability to trust and believe in the best of people against overwhelming evidence. Seth is not as forthcoming as Camden might have wished, and he does have his own agenda. Alright, enough with the jabbing. This was a worthy suspense.
The writing, while a bit on the sweet side, was still tight and I did read this in a single sitting. I connected to Seth. Yeah, I'm not even going to act like I could get in Camden's shoes. The story was on point. The chemistry between Seth and Camden was believable and steamy (notice the word graphic is nowhere included). Seth wanted his innocence back and Camden was the conduit. Of course, it was more involved, but there it is. I recommend this for the plot alone and for a chance to meet a very unique couple.

Thanks for hosting me today! Great to be here!
Thanks for the review - I have to admit that if I caught someone I had been seeing in flagrante delicto that there would have been some serious yelling, throwing of things and so on....I do like the sound of this book though. Thanks for the giveaway

Thanks for a great review: I love how you were able to put your inner bitch on the shelf and just walk in Camden's shoes as *her* for the duration. Something to Lose sounds like it could be something to read.

Oh wow, I was wondering about this book when I saw the book over a few weeks ago. Sounds like some intense drama being delt with by an sweet easy going woman / or a woman that takes no shit and moves on - LOL.
Loved the review. I'd be like you, however I think I'd cut the guys balls off first before I moved on and soaked my days worry away in a bubble bath - then I'd go out and pick up some hunk from a club and use him then tell him to get lost - LOL
Sounds like an interesting read.
