Tee is Vegas’s favorite casino hostess, ready to grant her high rollers their every quirky wish. But when her own wish to financially help her Paiute Tribe finally comes true, she decides to double-down with lady luck and go for a hot hook-up with her sexy boss, Leo. Unfortunately, Tee’s about to find out why their romance is such a long shot—Leo is a shape-shifting dragon.
Leo needs a proper dragon mate to save his waning dragon form, and despite their magnetic sexual attraction, he knows Tee is anything but proper—or a dragon. But when threats arise from Tee's tribe, Leo’s protective instincts kick in. Can he give up his dragon form for the woman he loves—even if it means shortening his life? Or has Tee finally had enough of having her heart dragged around?
Tagline: Can her love save him or will she be his downfall?
So, I was really, really waiting for this book. I absolutely adored the world Susannah Scott created from Luck of the Dragon, book 1 in the series. Leo is an Aussie fire dragon, so already with the accent, I mean come on! He is in danger of losing his dragon form if he doesn't find his mate quickly. This is bad, so he's not playing games, he wants to commit to the RIGHT woman. I loved Leo, I just didn't understand why he was so certain that Tee was not his mate. This threw me off a bit.
In the first book, I thought Tee might be a little flighty, even though she was an expert at her job. She soooo was not, in fact she was much more grounded than I ever expected. She still has a bit of the wild child, but she kept her under lock and key for the most part.
There was quite a bit of Native American mysticism woven through this book and I liked that element. I was certain with Tee's background she would have been much more accepting of Leo's dragon. Well, live and learn. Except for that one nitpicky irritant, this was a great addition to the series and I am definitely on board for more. These dragons just ooze sex and that can't lead to anything but great reading. There are so many wonderful choices for the next book (Fingers crossed for Darius and Mei), but I could handle any of them. This series is quickly becoming one of my favorites and barring something hideous is now on my "must read" list. Job well done, Ms. Scott, brava.

Luciana de Luca has a PhD in sass and gemology—and a problem. Her twin brother’s gambling debts have gotten out of hand, and a mob enforcer is blackmailing her to rob the latest, greatest mega-casino on the Strip. Although Lucy has worked her whole life to get away from her family’s grifter past, to save her brother, she dons three-inch heels and a sluts-r-us dress and struts into Alec’s Gerald’s casino, determined to put her long-forgotten thieving ways to the test again.
Alec Gerald, a shape-shifting dragon, has built the Crown Jewel casino to provide sanctuary for his people amongst the flash and awe of Las Vegas. Unfortunately, the sexy little thief trying to steal his largest diamond exhibit turns out to be his mate, and he must woo her before he loses his dragon form forever. But before he can handcuff her to his bed and explain the details of a mating ceremony, an enemy attacks and threatens to destroy his casino, his people, and his new found mate.
Woooo hoooo! And we have a winner! This book had it all, sexy dragons looking for their destined mates, money, jewels, intrigue, and a fun exciting story set in the glitz and glamour of Vegas that ties it all together. This book had one of my favorite romantic elements. The "Mine" factor. That is when a being sees or touches their mate and just knows. It all clicks into place.... MINE.
Alec was absolutely perfect. King of the dragons, he is ushering in a peace that has never existed and that a few want to destroy. This new world created by Susannah Scott is enthralling and I would so live at this casino. Rife with international politics, backstabbing, romance, desperation and a species on the brink of extinction, there is no rest in Luck of the Dragon.
I liked Lucy, she was smart, grounded and gutsy. Buuuuut she had a blind spot for her idiot brother and this caused many curse words to fly from my mouth at elevated volumes. Annnnd she hurt Alec, this gave me eye twitches and a facial tic. You know, you know, that I would never, ever give a book a five rating unless penance is served, so rest easy. I loved this book, I was invested in these characters and I really, really recommend you give this series a shot. Roll the dice, the odds are in your favor. Excellent job and bravissima!!
