Eden’s Hell, I: The First

In the beginning…

God created man and called him Adam, a fine specimen replicated in his own image. He then created woman to ease Adam’s loneliness and named her Lillith.

Unfortunately, God realized his mistake too late in giving woman free will, for she would rule her domain-not man. When Lillith left Adam, God created another for his first-born son, and gave her the name Eve and a kingdom called Eden, but by then it was too late, for he’d unleashed Hell into the world of man.

While I've read a couple of books that theorized on Lilith, the first mate of Adam, I never ran across any that mentioned the fate of Adam after his banishment from Eden. Eden's Hell offers up an absolutely delicious option that I am sure would raise the ire of many a religious zealot. I just ate this book up, so guess what camp I fall in. Adam (Addison) is now one of the First, a vampire, the Father to all vampires. After reconnecting with Lilith, God and his evil counterpart decide to punish Adam and Lilith for doing the nasty. Lilith takes to being a vampire like Kim K to photo ops, Adam not so much.

Eve caught up in her terminal case of bad-boyitis, lets her loser date get her bamboozled into signing a contract with Lilith. (Listen to your mothers, girls) Escaping, she runs to Addison's property bleeding and crying for help. Well, I'm not one for doing book reports so I'll just say that this is the beginning for a phenomenal book. This book is deep, I mean yes, there's sex and vampires and blah, blah, blah, but underneath it all is a brilliant "what if"? And it's not just "Okay, we'll offer up Lilith, Adam and Eve, and then go back to the same old good vampire, rogue vampire story". Noooo, this is so much more. This is the culmination of a biblical mystery. This is effing EPIC!

This book makes you question things. Why would God punish Lilith for not being a doormat? Is God Christian Grey? Why would the Devil care if Lilith screwed around with Adam? Eve has a penchant for bad boys, why wasn't she turned? Levels, just so many, many levels. Or maybe I was just swept away by the masterful writing and the original love triangle. Whatever it was that zapped my bugs, it was powerful and it was addictive. Fly into the light, my buzzing readers. It's pretty and only hurts for a second. Standing ovation to Ms. Dominique, job well done, brava!

Oh my, I so have to read this. Your review is awesome and has me wanting to read it. I love tales about Lilith. I devour them when I find any thing that mentions her because yes I believe that Lilith existed and the ole prophets didn't want anything about her in the bible because you know how men are back then - freakn' control freaks. LOL

All I can say is...Wow. I've been trying my best to tell people this series isn't "ordinary" and you did so in your review so eloquently. Thank you for such an outstanding review. I'm blown away and so pleased that you enjoyed the book as much as I did writing it. Thank you again!
