Cresso Taylor was used to women flinging themselves at him. Not only was he drop dead gorgeous and very wealthy, he was also an incubus whose natural charms and magnetism drew the fairer sex like flies to honey. How typical that fate would have him fall in love with the one woman who seemed not only immune to his many charms but to actively disdain them. Dr. Genevieve Russell was certainly aware of Cresso’s stunning appearance and sexual pull, she was also one of the few humans aware that he was an incubus. That just made her more determined to avoid him at all costs.  After having her heart broken by her playboy fiancé, Jeffrey, she would never fall or become involved with that type of man again.

This was a shorter, slightly different version of The Demons of Infernum books. While one of the brothers Taeg and his mate Maya make a substantial appearance, this book is the first not to revolve around the demon half brothers and the council. And while there is a sinister element, it is not the world ending type of drama we have come to expect from this series. That being said, different is definitely not bad, especially when different comes from such a talented writer as Ms. Lario. I'm beginning to think Rosalie Lario is one of those rare writers that could write menus and still make them best seller material.

This is one of my favorite kind of books. The type where the playboy hero has lost his heart to a woman he has to work for and to prove his worthiness. Not that Cresso was a bad type of guy, he was an incubus and it is what it is, but a slice of humble pie is always good for the soul. His feelings for Genevieve would have probably gone ignored if it wasn't for the nasty stalker that Genevieve has acquired. Lurking danger has a way of stripping defenses and walls and exposing the true person. Genevieve is forced to look past her initial impressions of who Cresso was and see the loving, dependable man inside. Heart of the Incubus  is another outstanding gem to be added to this wonderfully addictive series. I truly hope that Rosalie has plans for many more books in this fascinating world she has created, and I really, really want to jump on Dagan's book.

Great review. I can not wait for Dagans story. Rosalie's books are just amazing. I love both of her series.

I ususally like books about incubus and sucubus, but I'd never head about that series!

When you starting talking about the counsil and half brothers I immediately thought about the BDB series, do they have a lot in common?
