He's in the middle of the last thing he wanted… and the best thing to ever happen.

Ace paramedic Conner Dixon has sworn to never live with another woman after raising his four younger sisters. They have been giving him gray hair since they lost their father fifteen years ago. Now they're all in love and Conner's ready to retire-- from worrying, fixing problems and cleaning up messes.

Of course, when his fellow paramedic, Gabrielle Evans, needs a place to stay after her apartment burns down, Conner can't say no. But it's no problem-- Gabby's just one of the guys.

Gabby's penchant for poker and her ability to overhaul a transmission definitely make her different from Conner's usual women. She also has no interest in getting involved with him. Conner's crazy mix of family and friends is the last thing Gabby needs right now. She has her sights set on medical school in the fall and knows success depends on focus and commitment.

But within forty-eight hours of moving in, Gabby's in the middle of a family crisis that could disprove all her I-don't-need-anyone bluster and Conner's in the middle of the last thing he wanted-a girl and all her stuff, all over his stuff. Still, the more she makes herself at home, the more he thinks that's maybe exactly where her stuff should be. For good.

Warning: Contains a girl who thinks she wants to be just one of the guys, a guy who happily proves why that won't work, and a very good reason to buy cinnamon roll icing-you know, other than for use on cinnamon rolls.

First of all, I MUST thank Crystal Cuffey from Redheads Review it Better for turning me on to this book.

I just love, love, LOVED this book and Connor and every aspect of this book!! I can not stress enough that I luuuuuuurved this book.

From the first scene with the big pink bunny to the last period in the epilogue, there was not one word that did not send me into spasms of delight. The only thing that could have ruined this book for me would have been a photograph depicting Connor as Dean Smith.

Gabby was such an awesome woman. She called Conner on every BS move he had, and then turned his world upside down with one little "NASTY" sentence. I laughed for five minutes, I just kept seeing Connor's face with this utterly "duh" look plastered all over it. And Connor, OMG, how PERFECT was he?? He wants to dote and wait on and pamper. I want to make him all the cinnamon rolls his hot, studly self could ever want. He wants to do these things, but he isn't intimidated by a strong woman, in fact he loves a strong woman, almost too much. It just petrifies Gabby. If she had been so awesome, it would have ticked me off. I am so in love with this series that I may put off reading THE KING, just to catch up.

No really, it is that good! And it's not even a pnr, but the writing and the characters are just like Erin Nicholas reached into my dirty, pervy mind and pulled out what would make me happiest. So you have to know there is some scorching, get dirty and sweaty, sex involved. Oh, yes! I was so flooored because this was not what I was expecting at all. I expected maybe a mild sweat (if that) I mean could Erin look any sweeter. The words and scenarios this woman created were world class and yes this book did result in the "I just read an awesomely dirty book" booty call. TMI? I just want you to be prepared. Don't read this book in public if you blush, or flush, or have other outward signs of extreme arousal. Every single thing about this book worked for me. And no, it is not all about the sex, I have read much more exotically sexual books. It was the characters, their emotions combined with incendiary chemistry that transfers directly to the reader. I and my very good friend thank you Erin! Job supremely well done, take a bow, brava!

Erin Nicholas is the author of sexy contemporary romances. Her stories have been described as toe-curling, enchanting, steamy and fun. She loves to write about reluctant heroes, imperfect heroines and happily ever afters. She lives in the Midwest with her husband who only wants to read the sex scenes in her books, her kids who will never read the sex scenes in her books, and family and friends who say they’re shocked by the sex scenes in her books (yeah, right!).
