Thanks soooo much for agreeing to accommodate my being a very nosy blogger. I and my readers appreciate you stopping by to share some insights and maybe a few hints about This Year’s Black.

I'm pumped to be here! Thank you for having me!

From reading your books, interviews and guest posts, no one would ever guess what a fashionista you are. *snort* So, the red carpet question is .. Who are you wearing darling?

Right now? Um ... I'm in yoga pants. It's the official uniform of writers everywhere. :)

I adored the whole role reversal element in This Year’s Black. Devin as the fashion expert and Ryder as the security expert.  What was your inspiration?

Well, Ryder makes an appearance in the first Killer Style book (High-Heeled Wonder) and I just had to figure out who would be the perfect fit. And I love the idea of this guy who is a guy's guy but ends up loving fashion. It's such a paradox in our culture. As for inspiration, I'd go with Kanye West or David Beckham for being men's men who love fashion.

Devin is such an archtypical fashion guru! I mean his questionable past and all the tats, I just tried picturing him on the judging panel of America’s Next Top Model and almost killed myself. Yet in the book it fits beautifully. Is the fashion world ready for such an obviously alpha fashion leader? And who were you picturing as Devin?

I got hooked on this picture I saw on Pinterest (yes, the black hole) of this muscular tatted up guy with a towel barely hanging onto his hips. I knew right away that was Devin. And yes, I think the fashion world could make an alpha fashion leader work. He might even make Tim Gunn swoon. :)

This is not THE pic, but I just love it!

Ryder is my new role model! I am a big fan of the comfortable and black as well. Who would play her in the movie?

I could totally picture Mila Kunis in the role. She'd kick ass. :)

The suspense element really added to an already hot and entertaining story, I am a huge fan of romantic suspense. Is this something you intend to keep writing?

I love writing romantic suspense! It is so much fun to take the conflict and dial it up a notch or twenty. I'm also writing straight contemporary romance as well and that is fun in a whole new way. I've written paranormal too. Basically, I just love writing fun, fast stories about kickass women and alpha heroes no matter the genre.

What will Ryder be wearing at the wedding and what will her bridal colors be?

Ryder is a no fuss girl, so she'd be in Armani or Calvin Klein. And her colors? Black, of course. ;)

What’s on the horizon bookwise?

The first book in my Sweet Salvation Brewery series (Enemies on Tap) comes out July 28. That's such a fun one. It's a three-book series about triplets who inherit a run down brewery in a town that is dead set against seeing them succeed. There will be sparks. :)

Quickies

Favorite shoe designer?
Right now? Fendi. Not that I have any. :)
oooh, very geometrical this year, edgy!

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Ian Somerhalder, Gerard Butler - Marry, Sleep with, Kill?

I have to kill one?!? Marry = Rock, Sleep With = Gerard Butler Kill = Ian Somerhalder (sorry, you're very cute but a little too pretty for my taste!)

The Four Seasons or a hut on a deserted beach?

Can it be a Four Seasons hut on a deserted beach? That's what I'm voting for.

Who is your current book boyfriend?

I just fell into KA Mitchell's Bad in Baltimore series. She made me cry on an airplane and ugly cry at home. Still Quinn from Bad Boyfriend is my current crush.

Thanks again for being such a doll and keep rocking the stilts.

Back at you! xoxo and don’t forget to enter to win the This Year’s Black $500 Escape giveaway!

A fighter since birth, Allegra “Ryder” Falcon would rather trade in her all-black wardrobe for head-to-toe hot pink than let anyone ever see the cracks in her tough exterior. But one night with a stranger changes everything.

Devin Harris may have given up his MMA fighting dreams for high fashion, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t always in control. So when someone embezzles millions under his watch, he isn’t going to let the private investigator working the case go it alone—even if she is the woman who blew him away in bed and then blew him off.

Just when it seems like it couldn’t get any hotter between Ryder and Devin, the case takes them to a tropical paradise where the danger increases. From the catwalk to the pineapple fields, they have to work together to track down the missing millions before the thief finds—and kills—them.

You've seen the hype now here's the real deal. There is nothing sexier than pretty danger. It is not only visually appealing, it titillates, it tempts, it is the ultimate seduction. That's what makes Avery Flynn's books so hot. They are shiny and spectacular, the stuff of fantasies, but just real enough that we down here with the rest of the everyday masses can hope and reach. They may lead glamorous lives, or have infinitely fascinating jobs, but her characters also have issues and dark pasts that make them approachable and likable.

Ryder is a female security expert. Not your run of the mill, 9 to 5 ,job for a woman, but she also has horrible taste in men. Thus her year long hiatus from the sexual aspect of her life. Determined to prove herself, she wants to be all business. But sometimes life throws us a curve ball. Reading about Ryder's struggle to balance her love life and her career made me forget some of my own problems for a second. Isn't that what good writing is supposed to do?

Devin was a masterpiece of a character. Rough, edgy with something to prove, working in an industry that is not kind to those who don't meet the stringent criteria of perfection, and is rife with betrayal, backstabbing and subterfuge, he is a perfect fit for Ryder. (Get it, perfect fit? Fashion?.... never mind) His longing for acceptance, his desire for Ryder and trying to save his career make him not only a damaged hero, but an admirable one as well.

While their path was not a smooth cat walk (heh) it was imminently fun for me as the reader. The danger, the sex and the snarky intelligent dialogue placed me right alongside Ryder and Devin, through the good times, the harrowing, scary times, and the hot sizzling times. Hot tropical nights, a sarong, a little spiked punch can lead to some really steamy scenes in the cabana! I loved this combination of elements and I am betting that you will, too. Job extremely well done, Avery, bravissima.
