I have been extremely lucky in having been granted the honor of reviewing some fantastic books here of late. Now, I have one that is just not that caliber, maybe mediocre at best. Is it unfair to judge this book on others of the same genre, or should I take solely into account the author’s past works, and this book? Perhaps, if I had never been exposed to a J.R. Ward, Donna Grant, or Suzanne Brockman then this would be an enjoyable read. On the other hand, there are new author’s out there who are claiming their piece of the bestseller pie. I don’t like giving negative reviews, but I also want to give honest reviews. I freely admit I’m a book slut, but I’m not an easy one. Why must people make things difficult? *sigh*
